Discovery
Understanding scope, structural features & establishing success metrics
Activities
Requirement gathering with the client to define project goals and client expectations
Light-touch competitive analysis to identify engagement patterns
Service blueprint to map out user flows and technical feasibility
Highlights
Establishing the daily game timing and player sync
Challenge
Aligning game release, player participation, and result announcements within a daily cycle
Establishing a fixed schedule to maximise engagement during peak user hours
Ensuring smooth transitions between game phases, including countdowns for the next round
Solution
Set a structured daily timeline:
8 am – new game release
9 am – binary choice event to boost morning engagement
6 pm – results revealed, allowing users to check scores
midnight – countdown starts for the next game cycle
Designed a seamless user flow to maintain engagement and anticipation
Synced game logic and result tracking to ensure consistency in the experience

Ideation
Creating a playful look and feel and a smooth user flow
Activities
Mapped out user flows to ensure a smooth and intuitive journey from game start to results
Designed simple, rewarding interactions, including a swipe-based selection mechanic
Balanced engagement and usability, making interactions feel effortless and fun
Used subtle feedback cues, like animations and sounds, to enhance user satisfaction
Highlights
Daily game timing and player sync challenge
Challenge
Designing a daily selection experience that felt intuitive, engaging, and rewarding
Ensuring smooth user flows that guided players seamlessly from game start to results
Solution
Implemented a swipe-based selection mechanic to make choices feel effortless and fun
Mapped out clear user flows to maintain a frictionless experience
Added subtle feedback cues (animations, sounds) to enhance satisfaction and engagement
Prototype and testing
Testing design, understanding user perception and satisfaction
Activities
Developed a high-fidelity prototype to test core interactions and user flows
Conducted two rounds of usability testing to refine engagement and ease of use
Round 1 (8 users) – Identified friction points and identified potential for a social dimension to be added to the origianl concept
Round 2 (6 users) – Validated refinements and confirmed engagement improvements
Scoped and prioritised features to balance social interactions vs. MVP goals.
Documented potential future enhancements while ensuring a streamlined initial release
Highlights
Balancing scope: social features vs. MVP
Challenge
Ensuring the prototype effectively captured core user tasks while allowing iteration
Balancing social features vs. a focused MVP to keep development manageable
Solution
Designed a clear, testable prototype to validate the experience early
Presented trade-offs to align priorities with the client
Created an engaging MVP while structuring social features for future iterations
Achieved a an average task completion rate of 85% (3 core tasks) and 90% positive ratings on a Likert scale for user happiness
